Privacy Policy

Plautify ("we", "our", or "us") is a free app for the Plautdietsch community. We are committed to handling your information transparently and minimally. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how.
Information We Collect
Anonymous device identifier
When you first open the app, we generate a random identifier for your device. This is not linked to your name, email address, or any information that identifies you personally. It is used only to aggregate usage statistics.
Usage data
We collect anonymised records of in-app activity — such as which songs or episodes were played, downloaded, or shared — to understand what content is popular and how to improve the app. This data is sent in batches and is not tied to your identity.
Content reports
If you report a contributor using the in-app report feature, we receive the contributor name and the report type. We do not receive your identity. Reports are used solely to review and moderate content.
Push notification preferences
If you follow an artist or channel and have notifications enabled, your device is subscribed to that contributor's notification topic via Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google). Plautify does not store a list of which contributors you follow on our servers.
What We Do Not Collect
- Your name, email address, or any account credentials (regular users have no account)
- Your location or GPS data
- Your contacts or address book
- Payment information of any kind
- Any information that identifies you personally
How We Use Your Information
- To understand which content is popular and improve our recommendations
- To review reports of potentially inappropriate content so we can act on them
- To send you push notifications about new releases from creators you follow (only if you enable notifications)
Third-Party Services
Firebase (Google) — Used for push notifications. Your device's notification token is managed by Firebase. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy
Cloudflare — Audio, artwork, and video files are delivered via Cloudflare's global network. Cloudflare may log request metadata (IP address, request time) for security purposes. Cloudflare's privacy policy applies.
Data Retention
Anonymous analytics data is retained for up to 12 months. Content reports are retained until they are reviewed and resolved. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.
Children
Plautify is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through the app, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
Because we collect only anonymous data, we cannot look up records tied to a specific individual. If you want all data associated with your anonymous device identifier deleted, please contact us with your device's identifier (found in the app under Settings) and we will remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
